At The Disability Trust, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with disability to live fulfilling lives, committed to providing high-quality supports that encompass dignity, respect and inclusion. With the continued growth of our services, we are seeking casual Disability Support Workers who are able to bring their passion, creativity and enthusiasm to the role, looking for a rewarding career in supporting our participants to achieve their goals.

As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will work within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services across Goulburn, which will involve carrying out day-to-day responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting participants with domestic duties and meal preparation including cooking and cleaning.
  • Supporting participants in attending appointments and social community events.
  • Assisting with personal care such as showering, toileting and dressing.
  • Administering and organising medication in line with protocols.
  • Providing active support by engaging in activities with participants that promote skill-building and are goal-focused.
  • Ensuring documentation is kept up-to-date through client notes and incident reporting.

What do I need to succeed in the role?

As the successful candidate for the role, you will ideally have availability to work a range of shifts across a 24/7 roster which includes mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnights. You will have a genuine desire to provide high-quality supports to people with disability and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with participants and their families/carers.

The ability to navigate computer systems and complete documentation with an understanding of privacy and confidentiality will be highly regarded. If successful, you will be required to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (WWC), cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check, Covid-19 Vaccination record with at least two doses, current Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
