
Hazardous Areas Compliance Specialist

The role of an experienced Technical Officer is to perform a broad range of compliance and inspection activities within hazardous areas. We are seeking an individual with great technical and communication abilities who has experience working in utilities, Defence, heavy industry, or oil and gas sectors.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Adelaide, South Australia. You will be working predominantly at Defence installations and utilities, however the role is quite varied and you may find yourself in wineries, recycling plants, ports or other interesting and varied locations.
As part of the compliance team, some of your key tasks include:
- Successfully deliver on small to large, complex, multidisciplinary, high-risk projects.
- Collaboratively resolve anomalies, design issues, technical challenges in relation to hazardous areas.
- Perform HA inspections and prepare HA audits.
- Prepare remediation scopes of work.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders.
- Visit clients/sites as required.
- Contribute to the technical success of project outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside other project managers, project controllers, engineers, designers and technicians who are passionate about providing quality customer service and support to our internal and external clients. In addition, you will be encouraged to take part in further training as part of your development plan as you continue your employment journey.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
We are looking for an individual with the following skills and qualifications:
- An A Class electrical license in South Australia.
- EEHA install, maintain and inspect competencies.
- Solid operational and/or technical oil & gas or similar complex industrial experience.
- A proven ability to work flexibly between site and office.
- A proven ability to write factual, concise and literate reports and scopes of work.
- Familiarity with complex schedules, time constraints, resource allocations, risk and opportunities.
