Speech Language Pathologist
The South Huron Hospital Association is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to fulfill a vital role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, treating, educating, and managing patients with developmental speech and communication difficulties/disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify developmental speech and communication difficulties/disorders in children.
- Provide education to patients, families of patients, and team members.
- Manage a caseload, taking account of priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referral, and discharge or service users.
- Collaborate with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
- Conduct swallowing assessments for inpatients, providing recommendations for plan of care.
- Master's Level Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Previous experience working with children required. Preference given to individuals possessing a minimum of 1-year clinical experience in the identification and treatment of speech and language delays and disorders.
- Experience in provision of Early Language Parent Training (e.g., Hanen programs) and family education regarding management of/ family interaction with children with communication disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to be flexible with work assignments and take initiative as appropriate. Appreciative of resource utilization constraints.
- Demonstrated understanding of computer software including MS Office, One Chart, and meeting platforms such as OTN and MS Teams.
- Proof of professional/general liability insurance.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel throughout the region.
- Current Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen and immunization status required upon hire.
