
Commercial Account Development Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Account Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with account producers and marketers to understand client needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain maximum retention of existing clients by providing exceptional service.
- Attend external meetings as required.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and correspondence.
- Prepare client documents and updates in collaboration with the support team.
- Monitor and follow up on project expiries, abeyances, and outstanding information.
- Update spreadsheets and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with the placement team to facilitate placements, renewals, and policy changes.
- Handle broking processes for small to mid-size policies within the book.
- Review leases and contracts, and provide coverage advice to clients.
- Provide bid costing and recommendations for clients prior to tender closings.
- Complete certificate requests and recommend additional coverage to clients.
- Quote and issue premium finance contracts as requested.
- Participate in internal renewal strategy meetings.
- Manage account receivables proactively.
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintain continuing education credits for licensing.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Insurance License.
- Minimum 5 years account management experience and strong knowledge of commercial lines insurance.
- CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Applied Epic.
- Friendly professional demeanor and good business acumen.
- Able to thrive in a team environment and work well with others.
- Driven to success and able to represent the company professionally.
