Unlock a Meaningful Career with Youth Projects Ltd
We are an independent, registered charity that provides front-line support to young people and individuals experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness, alcohol, and other drug issues.
About the Role:
The AOD & Mental Health Worker position forms part of our multidisciplinary team at The Living Room Primary Health Service. As part of the Substance Misuse Team, you will work with people experiencing multiple and complex needs to provide strengths-based and therapeutic interventions designed to reduce the frequency and severity of mental health crises and the harms of high-risk AOD use amongst Melbourne's rough sleeping population accessing The Living Room Primary Health Services.
You will work within a social model of health, providing crisis interventions, undertaking structured and semi-structured counselling sessions, and conducting supported referrals across various domains. This role also involves secondary consults for clinical and non-clinical staff at The Living Room to develop coordinated care plans for individuals presenting with complex mental health and harmful AOD use.
This is a 9-month contract ending 30th June 2025. We are seeking an experienced professional who has worked in the AOD and/or MH sector and treatment provision, with a focus on clients with multiple and complex needs.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in AOD and/or MH sector and treatment provision working with clients with multiple and complex needs.
- Demonstrated experience working in a community-based setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of homelessness, housing, and health sectors (including mental health and AOD).
Why Work with Us?
We offer a casual and flexible yet professional and high-energy workplace environment. You will be encouraged to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and we promote a culture of respect, dignity, and no judgment.
We have an estimated salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include free coffee, generous salary packaging, flexible work arrangements, and a comprehensive employee assistance program.
