Job Opportunity: Legal Researcher

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development:
    • Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in law programs.
    • Develop course materials and contribute to curriculum design.
  • Research and Publication:
    • Undertake high-quality research and publish in leading journals.
    • Contribute to the school's research profile.
  • Student Supervision and Mentorship:
    • Guide students in their research projects at various levels.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Participate in knowledge transfer activities and establish partnerships at local, national, and global levels.
Requirements
  • Hold a first degree in law from a common law jurisdiction.
    • A PhD or equivalent completed in a relevant discipline, in an area of private, criminal or commercial law.
  • Potential to achieve high levels of scholarship in legal research, demonstrated by publications of high quality.
  • Teaching expertise preferably as seminar leader, lecturer, and/or coordinator in a complete subject in law.
Senior Lecturer Requirements
  • A publication record in law nationally recognised for its influence in expanding knowledge in private, criminal or commercial law.
    • Evidence of high-quality teaching experience.
  • Evidence of successful leadership and service contributions to university administration.
  • Relevant professional experience and networks.
  • A sound understanding of legal education pedagogy.
  • Experience with deploying relevant education technologies to support student learning, engagement, and participation, and alternative modes of teaching.
