Job Title: Law Faculty Member

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic professional to join our School of Law at La Trobe University.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assess students in various law subjects, including contract law, torts, and equity;
  • Develop high-quality curricula and learning materials that meet the needs of our students;
  • Mentor and supervise students on their research projects and dissertations;
  • Contribute to the development of our academic programs, including curriculum design and accreditation;
  • Pursue opportunities for research and publication, including presenting papers at conferences and publishing articles in academic journals;
  • Engage with colleagues to develop new courses and programs that meet the needs of the legal profession;
  • Participate in departmental activities, including committee work and student advising.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD in Law or a related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and assess students in various law subjects;
  • Experience in developing high-quality curricula and learning materials;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds;
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with developments in the legal profession.

 

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Knowledge of educational technologies and their application in teaching and learning;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop new courses and programs;
  • Experience in pursuing opportunities for research and publication.
