Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team in Sydney.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable functions, with 2-3 years' experience. They will be responsible for managing and overseeing the firm's receivables, ensuring accurate and timely collection of outstanding invoices.

  • Respond promptly to client queries
  • Regularly review and reconcile client accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between client records and internal accounts
  • Accurately process and record all incoming payments daily
  • Proactively manage and follow up on aged debtor accounts to recover outstanding debts

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, intermediate to advanced MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills, and a minimum of 3 years computerised accounting experience. Exposure to multi-currency transactions and experience of monitoring unbilled disbursement and recoveries balances would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client Query Management: Respond promptly to client queries via phone or email to address their concerns and provide updates on their account status.
  2. Account Reconciliation: Regularly review and reconcile client accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and matched to the correct customer or vendor.
  3. Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between client records and internal accounts, ensuring that all errors are corrected and rectified in a timely manner.
  4. Payment Processing: Accurately process and record all incoming payments daily, updating the relevant accounts and ensuring that all monies are credited to the correct customer or vendor.
  5. Aged Debtor Management: Proactively manage and follow up on aged debtor accounts to recover outstanding debts, minimizing write-offs and maintaining a healthy cash flow.
