About the Role

The Finance and Accounting department is responsible for the timely provision and analysis of financial information to all business units and to assist them in achieving their objectives. This includes periodic reporting and analysis of reports, provision of credit management services, provision of accounts payable services, provision of treasury function, maintenance of accounting systems and maintenance of fixed assets.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for working with Executive and Managers to understand key financial issues facing the business and working directly with each business unit to ensure issues are resolved and the company's financial objectives are met.This includes the management of the management accounting team to provide monthly reporting and analysis, financial modelling, budget preparation, provision of general ledger reconciliations, administration and all general accounting functions.

Key responsibilities of the role include :

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Management Accounting team
  • Lead the month end close process and oversee preparation of monthly reporting
  • In conjunction with the Financial Controller, coordinate the annual budget
  • Analysis of financial information to business units
  • Central point of contact for all external and group reporting
  • In conjunction with the Financial Controller, coordinate and manage year end close processes
  • Management and review of the balance sheet account reconciliation process
  • Oversee and manage fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting and payroll related accounting
  • Review divisional financial performance with operational managers
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations

Your Skills

You will need to bring your exceptional Accounting and Leadership skills to the fore.This includes :

CA / CPA or equivalent accreditationFrontline Management Qualifications or equivalent team management experiencePrevious experience in public practice (manager level) or senior accounting role in medium to large organization ($50m+ turn over)Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation relating to finance and accountingCurrent, unrestricted driver's license
