
Lead Payroll Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our payroll operations in creating a thriving workplace for employees across Australia and the United Kingdom.
This role is ideally suited to someone looking to move forward in their career and be excited to take on the challenge of managing and improving a company's Payroll function end to end.
You will be responsible for all Payroll related month end and year end activities to ensure payroll entries are booked correctly, and that employee compliance matters are completed within a timely manner. Finally, you will be involved in reviewing and improving the current payroll processes, systems and practices to ensure that Deputy is ready for future growth.
Responsibilities:- Process bi-monthly payroll, terminations, employee adjustments and new starters.
- Review payroll data, respond to queries from internal stakeholders and clarify any discrepancies.
- Preparation and lodgement of Australian regional statutory reporting requirements, including STP, Payroll Tax and PAYG/PAYE.
- Preparation of month end journals including Payroll, Superannuation, pension, payroll tax.
- Conducts routine payroll audits to ensure accuracy of information.
- Completed payroll activities and reports are within agreed timeframes.
- Assists in end of month Payroll reporting.
- Assists with payroll requests for the year end financial audit.
- Contribute to a climate of continuous improvement of processes, procedures and systems.
- Work cross functionally with other departments.
- Ensure all company Payroll policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Be a key participant in streamlining our payroll systems and finding solutions to integrate with Netsuite.
Desired Experience:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a payroll lead or similar role.
- 2+ years of proven experience in a Global payroll capacity.
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws in Australia and the U.K.
- Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes (preferably in the U.K. and Australia).
- Experience scaling payroll systems and procedures for a fast-growing global organisation.
