Job Title: Specialist Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine

The role of a Specialist Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine is to provide high-quality medical care to patients with acute and chronic conditions.

This position involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.

  • Key responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Another key aspect of the role is staying up-to-date with the latest medical research, best practices, and guidelines in emergency medicine.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for this role, as the specialist will be required to communicate complex medical information to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fellowship with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or FRACP Paediatrician with a Specialisation in Emergency Medicine (FRACP PEM)
  • Medical Registration – Applicants must hold a primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA
  • Clinical Responsibilities – Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as required by HNELHD
