Job Overview: As a key member of the Public Affairs team, you will play a vital role in shaping the organisation's external communications strategies and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders across Government, non-government agencies, and the Queensland community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director, Public Affairs in developing and implementing external communications strategies, frameworks, and policies to positively position the organisation.
  • Lead a team of communications and marketing experts to deliver external communications, strategies, marketing events, and campaigns.
  • Manage media releases, social media response, and marketing campaigns for the QPS.
  • Identify and analyse major issues and prepare responses and strategies.
  • Develop performance evaluation methodologies to assess and improve public affairs strategies.
  • Provide specialist advice to the Minister's office and Executive Leadership Team on media and public affairs issues.
  • Oversee preparation of external communication products for use by QPS executives.
  • Manage resources to ensure effective delivery of media and public affairs services.

Requirements:

Nil formal qualifications required; however, experience in media management, marketing, and public affairs is desirable. Applicants may be required to work outside business hours and undertake rotational on-call duties and inter/intra state travel.
