We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead our Technical Security Capability Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advancing Defence's technical security capability through research and development, and providing technical evaluation and analysis of equipment and technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement technical solutions to advance Defence's capability.
- Integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance our technical security operations.
- Provide comprehensive technical evaluation and analysis of equipment and technologies to inform our research and development initiatives.
- Manage research and development initiatives to address emerging technical threats to Defence.
- Provide expert advice on complex technical security matters to key stakeholders.
- Lead integration testing and evaluation of systems and subsystem components using industry standard test equipment.
The Technical Security Capability Development team is a dynamic and highly skilled unit dedicated to advancing Defence's technical security capability. We are a multidisciplinary team comprising technicians and engineers who provide overarching support to technical security operations, and contribute to safeguarding sensitive information by applying engineering principles and methodologies to complex technical matters.
Our Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a critical thinker with a comprehensive understanding of Defence's operating environment, and a demonstrated interest in emerging technologies and its uses within a security context. You will have an Engineering Degree in the field of Electronics or Radio Frequency technologies, and demonstrated experience in managing teams, leading projects, teaching groups, and presenting to a wide range of customers with varying technical experience.
The successful candidate will have prior knowledge of, or experience in, managing budgets and/or Defence's procurement processes, and exposure to WHS requirements, regulations and policy. Prior use and knowledge of radiation equipment and safety regulations, electrical work and safety, and previous TSCM experience would also be highly regarded.
