Data Governance Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our organization. This role involves the delivery of strategic data governance initiatives, including data retention, protection, and quality management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies for data classification, retention, and security
  • Analyse data retention requirements and recommend strategies for improvement
  • Classify data assets by confidentiality level and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Analyse data flows and document data lineage to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Implement data quality rules and metrics to measure performance
  • Collaborate with data stewards to monitor and resolve data issues in a timely manner
  • Facilitate periodic data governance activities such as retention rule reviews and data quality assessments
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data management best practices
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in data management, computer science, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CDMP or DAMA membership
  • At least 3+ years experience in a data governance role with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in business analysis and data cataloging tools
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
