Job Description

The position of Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist is a critical role within our multidisciplinary team. As a skilled and compassionate professional, you will provide short-term, intensive support to individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis.

About the Opportunity

This challenging yet rewarding role offers regular training in areas such as crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, AOD and legal frameworks. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise, with a pathway into leadership, clinical coordination, or a specialist mental health role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, person-centered interventions that can prevent hospitalization
  • Help stabilize individuals and connect them with ongoing supports
  • Demonstrate competency in mental state and risk assessment and the ability to prioritize workloads
  • Work collaboratively as a leading member of the multi-disciplinary team

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 24 months' previous Acute experience
  • Previous CATT / EMH experience highly sought after
  • Currently registered with APHRA
  • A current unrestricted Victorian Driver's License and ability to drive a work vehicle
