Job Title: Crisis Intervention Specialist

About the Role

Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) is a multidisciplinary team that provides short-term, intensive support to individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Regular training in areas such as crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, AOD and legal frameworks.
  • Pathway into leadership, clinical coordination, or a specialist mental health role.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated competency in mental state and risk assessment and the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Minimum of 24 months' previous Acute experience.
  • Previous CATT / EMH experience highly sought after.
  • Currently registered with APHRA.
  • Ability to work as a leading member of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and function effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Clinicians require strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and resilience.
  • Clinicians should be comfortable with uncertainty and have the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Deliver timely, person-centered interventions that can prevent hospitalization.
  • Help stabilize individuals and connect them with ongoing supports.
  • Ability to document and search appropriate databases.
  • A current unrestricted Victorian Driver's License and ability to drive a work vehicle.
Additional Requirements
  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status as required by public health orders.
