Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Capital Works Planning and Delivery team as an Engineering Technical Officer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for engineering and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects. As an Engineering Technical Officer, you will play a key role in providing technical expertise on engineering matters related to property developments in the municipality.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical advice on engineering matters, including traffic, parking, drainage, and waste generation, at the planning application stage, report and consent stage, and subdivision stage.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and council policies.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also support the Transport Infrastructure team with project management of capital works delivery and administrative duties.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Local government experience in the engineering field and a sound knowledge of traffic engineering and stormwater drainage principles relating to multi-unit developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in transport engineering and knowledge of relevant standards and best-practices related to transport planning and engineering.
  • Experience in developing and delivering capital works projects.
  • A current Driver's Licence suitable for driving in Victoria.
