About the Position:

Fire System Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire System Technician to install, commission and maintain dry fire systems in commercial, residential, and industrial settings.

This role involves installing, testing and commissioning dry fire systems according to Australian standards. Additionally, you will program and configure fire alarm control panels from major brands, perform regular maintenance, fault finding and repairs, read and interpret electrical and system drawings, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Install, test and commission dry fire systems to meet client requirements
  • Program and configure fire alarm control panels from leading manufacturers
  • Maintain and repair dry fire systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Read and interpret electrical and system drawings to understand installation specifications
  • Evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and meets regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fire detection and suppression systems
  • Proven expertise in programming fire panels and configuring control systems
  • Strong understanding of AS 1670 and AS 1851 (or local codes)
  • Current White Card and industry-specific accreditations
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) or integration systems
  • Fire Safety Certification or FPAS accreditation (or regional equivalent)
