We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Randstad. Based in Parramatta, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across various sectors including building services, mining, commercial buildings, and renewable energy systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior electrical engineer with extensive experience in designing and delivering solutions that meet client needs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing electrical engineering projects from initial concept to construction completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This includes developing feasibility studies, concept designs, detailed designs, and issue-for-construction designs in compliance with relevant Australian Standards.

A strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS3000, AS3008, AS61439, AS3010, and AS2067, is essential for this role. Proficiency in electrical network modelling using tools such as Powercad is also required. Experience in designing and managing projects involving low voltage, 11kV systems, BESS, and solar technologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with stakeholders: Work closely with electrical authorities, project stakeholders, clients, and internal engineers to ensure project success, effective communication, and alignment of objectives.
  • Design Development: Develop feasibility studies, concept designs, detailed designs, and issue-for-construction designs in compliance with relevant Australian Standards (AS3000, AS3008, AS61439, AS3010, AS2067).
  • Network Modelling: Model electrical networks using Powercad and other relevant tools, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside electrical drafters to produce high-quality, accurate design drawings and documentation.
  • Client Support: Provide ongoing assistance to clients during the construction phase of projects, ensuring alignment with design specifications and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Project Management: Manage electrical engineering projects from initial concept to construction completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Shop Drawing Review: Review shop drawings for switchboard design and manufacture, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with project specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A demonstrated experience in electrical engineering at a senior level, with proven expertise in building services, commercial projects, and renewable energy systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS3000, AS3008, AS61439, AS3010, and AS2067.
  • Proficient in electrical network modelling using tools such as Powercad.
  • Experience in designing and managing projects involving low voltage, 11kV systems, BESS, and solar technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to construction completion, ensuring quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to liaise with clients, authorities, and internal teams.
