Job Summary

This senior-level position is responsible for performing initial reviews of quarterly financial statements, year-end audits, and tax returns within the Pre-Stabilized portfolio. The successful candidate will also provide secondary reviews of cost certifications reports and Form 8609s, as well as technical assistance to resolve issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review partnership tax returns, cost certifications, Form 8609s, and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform tax capital account analyses, including 704(b) analyses, and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Process, analyze, and adjust lower-tier financial data on a quarterly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Interface with General Partners and their accountants to resolve eligible basis, Housing Credit calculations, tax, and audit issues.
  • Provide annual audit and tax return training to ensure staff is equipped to perform these tasks effectively.
  • Conduct supervisory reviews of year-end audits, tax returns, cost certifications, and Form 8609s to ensure quality and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of accounting and tax experience, preferably in public accounting or with a focus on real estate or partnership tax.
  • Knowledge of real estate development terminology and financial analysis.
  • Experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credits, with a focus on pre-stabilization properties.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate complex activities and prioritize conflicting demands.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated habit of accuracy and reliability, with the ability to meet deadlines and work evening and weekend hours during peak periods.
  • Proven ability to work across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs and familiarity with Salesforce.
