Job Description:

Project stakeholders are seeking a strategic human resource and industrial relations leader to provide guidance on senior project management. This role will coordinate the onboarding and training of staff and wages personnel, develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders groups, and oversee HR/IR activities throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who can leverage their expertise in employee relations, training & development, and workforce planning to drive successful project outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for increasing local, Indigenous, female and new entrant participation in projects and be able to influence stakeholders to achieve this goal.

The selected individual will lead a small team of HR/IR professionals and work closely with the project management team to ensure that all HR-related initiatives align with the project's objectives. They will also maintain and review the project workforce plan, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate actions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations or Business
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience providing senior level strategic HR leadership
  • Strong background working in HR/IR and/or training in the Australian construction or heavy industry environment
  • Leadership skills and the ability to create effective teams with a strong focus on delivering outcomes
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, delegate and make decisions that contribute to the strong performance of projects
