About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Springfield Lakes Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) in Brisbane. This is a permanent, part-time position offering 34.5 hours of work per week during school term and up to 38 hours during vacation care time.

As the Assistant Coordinator, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of quality programs that cater to the diverse needs of children
  • Manage the day-to-day running of programs, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Support the Coordinator with staff management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, maintaining effective administration systems
  • Collaborate with families and the school community to provide exceptional customer service
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Children Services or a related field
  • Proven experience in assisting with programming and delivering high-quality childcare services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with colleagues, families, and stakeholders
  • First Aid and CPR certification, with a willingness to obtain further qualifications as required
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card), or a willingness to obtain
  • NQF knowledge an advantage
