Overview

The YMCA Brisbane is a leading provider of childcare services in Queensland, committed to empowering children and young people to feel safe and be safe. We are currently seeking a Childcare Program Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA Springfield Lakes Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service.

About the Role

This permanent, part-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to contribute to the development and implementation of high-quality programs for children aged 0-12 years. As a key member of the OSHC team, you will work collaboratively with educators, families, and school staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Service Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the service and team of educators
  • Support the development and implementation of quality programs that meet the needs of diverse children and their families
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive culture within the service, promoting respect, empathy, and understanding among children, families, and staff
  • Collaborate with educators to design and implement educational activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the Department of Education and other regulatory bodies
  • Foster strong relationships with families, schools, and community organizations to promote partnerships and support children's well-being

Requirements

  • Diploma in Children Services or relevant qualification; currently studying or willing to obtain;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role or related field;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, educators, and stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts;
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Certificate of Suitability to Work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain;
  • NQF knowledge desirable.
