Senior Solicitor Advocate Lead

A challenging role for a senior solicitor to lead the establishment and management of a multidisciplinary socio-legal service for children and young people in out-of-home care. This position requires strong leadership skills, expertise in care and protection law, and a commitment to social justice and child welfare.

The ideal candidate will have a proven history of working effectively with professionals across legal, welfare, and therapeutic domains to deliver holistic outcomes. They will also possess innovative thinking, strategic insight, and ability to approach complex challenges creatively.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the multidisciplinary socio-legal service for children and young people in out-of-home care.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Legal Aid NSW services for children and young people as high priority clients.
Requirements
  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW.
  • Current NSW Practising Certificate.
  • Willingness to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency, or a valid visa to work in Australia.
  • Capacity to travel regularly, including to regional and remote areas.
