Job overview

South Australia Police seeks a Prosecuting Solicitor across multiple prosecution units: Port Augusta, Berri, Ceduna/Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Pirie. The Prosecuting Solicitor is accountable to the Prosecution Unit Manager for the provision of prosecution services including adjudication, negotiation and advocacy. The role may involve managing prosecution files across varying levels of complexity and may include supervision of Prosecuting Solicitors in accordance with the Supervision Guidelines of the Law Society of the Law Society of South Australia. The incumbent is expected to act in accordance with the ethics of the legal profession.

Location: VARIOUS — Port Augusta, Berri, Ceduna/Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Pirie. Job status: Ongoing. Eligibility: Open to Everyone. Multiple term/ongoing full-time vacancies available across various locations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide prosecution services including adjudication, negotiation and advocacy.
  • Manage prosecution files across the full range of complexity.
  • Potentially supervise Prosecuting Solicitors in accordance with the Law Society guidelines.

Special Conditions

Requirements
  • A degree in law and admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia.
  • Must hold or demonstrate eligibility for a South Australia unrestricted practicing certificate.
Salary

LE3 - $94,967 - $102,518 per annum.
