This role involves providing specialist nursing expertise in contemporary sexual health practice, particularly related to BBV/STI prevention and management.
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines impacting sexual health.
- Provide expert nursing advice to stakeholders regarding BBV/STI prevention, testing, treatment, and management.
- Support Public Health Units and Sexual Health Services in providing confidential contact tracing and public health management of notified BBV/STI cases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering projects to meet timeframes and budgets.
- Preparing reports, briefs, clinical guidelines, consumer materials, and publications for diverse audiences.
- Advising the Assistant Director of Nursing, BBV/STI Public Health Nursing Team, and Unit leadership on BBV/STI prevention, testing, treatment, and management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
- A postgraduate qualification or current enrollment in a relevant postgraduate program is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of contemporary sexual health or public health nursing and BBV/STI management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across Queensland's public health system.
