Job Description

The Policy Manager will play a key role in supporting our organisation's goals and objectives by providing strategic advice on policy trends and implications. This will involve developing and managing advocacy initiatives, representing us in consultation forums and working groups, and preparing briefing papers, reports, speeches, and correspondence for senior leaders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Advice: Provide expert analysis and guidance on policy trends and implications for our organisation and the wider sector.
  • Advocacy Initiatives: Develop and manage effective advocacy strategies to support our priorities and promote our mission.
  • Representation: Represent us in consultation forums and working groups to contribute to policy development and align our advocacy efforts with internal policy activities.
  • Communication: Prepare high-quality briefings, reports, speeches, and correspondence for senior leaders and other stakeholders.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences. You will also need to have a deep understanding of the political environment affecting our sector and a proven track record of influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in policy development within government relations, public policy, or advocacy, preferably in education or the public sector.
  • Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in a field such as politics, law, or social sciences.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences.
