About the roleWe are seeking a Policy & Advocacy Coordinator (Branches) to help shape and deliver mental health policy and advocacy across our state Branches.
You will work closely with Branch Policy Advisors, Committees, and the Bi-national policy team to coordinate national advocacy efforts, develop policy content, and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
This role offers the chance to influence mental health policy, support clinicians, and contribute to campaigns that make a real difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities: Support consultation processes, track and analyse feedbackAssist with submissions, briefings, and evidence-based policy positionsCoordinate cross-Branch advocacy campaigns and legislative responsesMaintain relationships with government departments and health agenciesProvide secretariat support to Branch CommitteesMonitor trends and reforms for strategic policy responsesContribute to work planning, reporting, and team collaborationWhat you'll bringRelevant tertiary qualification in public policy, social sciences, health, law, or related fieldKnowledge of policy development and government structuresStrong research, analytical, and communication skillsExperience managing policy or advocacy projectsCollaborative approach across teams and jurisdictions(Desirable) Experience in membership-based or clinician-led organisations(Desirable) Interest in mental health and health systemsFull working rights in Australia Some of what's on offer: Base salary $58,000 to $72,000 + leave loading + 12% superFlexible work location (home or local branch)One paid day off per month for full-time employees12 weeks paid gender-neutral parental leaveInclusive, values-led workplace celebrating diversityWork on initiatives improving mental health outcomes across Australia and Aotearoa New ZealandHow to applySubmit your resume and cover letter as a single document via the Expr3ss link.
