Job Summary

A rare opportunity for a skilled aircraft professional to work in a high-performing team at an engineering facility in Melbourne.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces of aircraft panels/component surfaces, ensuring they are ready for painting.
  • Remove surface coatings and light corrosion from aircraft or aircraft components using approved techniques.
  • Apply paints and specialty coatings via various methods (spraying, rolling and brushing), adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Apply stencils, decals and aircraft specific markings, livery and registrations, requiring attention to detail.
  • Perform rectification work involving the preparation and painting of aircraft components, following approved maintenance data.
  • Apply specialised coatings to aircraft components in accordance with approved guidelines.
  • Plan and organise own aviation maintenance work activities as they apply to painting and finishing, demonstrating effective time management skills.
About You
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in automotive or aircraft painting is preferred but not essential.
  • Similar experience in other aviation industry positions or related industries can be considered.
  • The ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of quality assurance procedures is essential, with experience in aviation procedures being advantageous.
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others are required.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is necessary.
  • Holding a valid ASIC card is essential, with the ability to obtain one if necessary.
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail are vital for success in this role.
  • A valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers Licence are also required.
