As an Aircraft Painter at Jetstar, your role involves applying surface finishes and related materials on aircraft structures in line with Jetstar Airlines' 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), Jetstar Safety Management System (SMS), Maintenance Control & Procedures Manual, Company Policies, and Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations.Key Responsibilities Include:Inspect and prepare surfaces of aircraft panels/component surfacesRemoval of surface coatings and light corrosion from aircraft or aircraft componentsApply paints and specialty coatings via various methods (spraying, rolling and brushing)Apply stencils, decals and aircraft specific markings, livery and registrationsPerform rectification work involving the preparation and painting of aircraft componentsApply specialised coatings to aircraft components in accordance with approved maintenance dataPlanning and organising own aviation maintenance work activities as they apply to painting and finishingApplying quality standards applicable to aviation maintenance processes as they apply to painting and finishingInterpreting and using aviation maintenance technical data including manuals, drawings, and specifications as they apply to painting and finishingCompletion of aviation maintenance industry documentation as required by relevant Regulations and Quality proceduresAbout You Where searching for someone who:At least 2 years' experience in automotive or aircraft painting preferredSimilar experience in other aviation industry position or in related industryAbility to demonstrate sound knowledge of quality assurance procedures (Experience with aviation procedures preferred)Have excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and othersDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a teamHave or able to apply for ASIC cardStrong work ethic and attention to detailHold a valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers LicenceRemuneration on offer: Please note all Jetstar Painters in Australia are paid under the Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023 at a base rate of $83,236.Your life at Jetstar is unlike any otherPut the craft in aircraft: There's a new fleet of A321LR NEO's waiting for your arrival.
