Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an apprentice horticulturist. As a key member of our Open Spaces team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our parks and reserves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance and development of our open spaces, parks, and gardens.
  • Gain practical skills in turf/sports field maintenance, greenkeeping, nursery management, and tree maintenance.
  • Complete a Certificate III in Horticulture course at Yallah TAFE to develop theoretical knowledge and skills associated with presenting our city.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and rotational programs within the Open Spaces team.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong passion for working outdoors and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various weather conditions.

  • A competitive salary range from $601.70 per week (for a 16-year-old) up to $827.40 per week (for someone aged 18 and over).
  • Plus 12% superannuation.
