Our Local Government Organisation is seeking an accomplished Urban Development Leader.

**Key Responsibilities**:

As a senior member of our planning team, you will lead complex urban development matters, focusing on land use impacts and infrastructure costs. Your role will involve:

- Delivering high-quality town planning services with leadership, guidance, and mentorship.
- Supporting the implementation of changes across the unit.
- Participating in the preparation and delivery of council plans and strategies, business plans, and service reviews.
- Assisting in leading community engagement activities focused on education about projects/programs or significant applicant/objector consultation.
- Ensuring that team members are knowledgeable about legislation, regulations, and policies relevant to the services and advice provided by the unit.
- Coordinating and representing the council at tribunals, hearings, public meetings, and applicant/objector meetings.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- A degree in planning or equivalent experience in a planning role.
- High-level knowledge of legislation, state planning policies, regional plans, and planning schemes.
- Excellent communication skills to influence key stakeholders and negotiate good design outcomes.
