Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Data Protection Specialist to provide expert legal, risk monitoring and prevention advice across the company.

  • Providing guidance on data protection and privacy compliance functions, procedures and technologies.
  • Reviewing, analysing and making recommendations for implementing and improving data protection and privacy compliance policies.
  • Supporting efforts in maintaining high levels of conformance regarding data protection and privacy compliance matters.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of local Australian, regional and EU data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). They will also have highly developed communication skills and previous experience advising on complex data privacy questions, matters and regulatory issues.

This role requires a degree in law from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification within the EU. Qualified lawyers with 3-5 years post-admission legal experience and a current practicing certificate are preferred.
