Job Profile

This role requires a skilled technical author to create and write comprehensive documentation for defence systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in technical writing within Defence, engineering, or related industries, and knowledge of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC and/or radio frequency (RF) systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and write detailed documentation for defence systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to identify documentation requirements
  • Review and edit technical and non-technical content for clarity and accuracy
  • Create visual aids, diagrams, and illustrations to support technical content
  • Ensure documentation meets relevant standards and client expectations
Required Expertise
  • Engineering or Trade qualifications (Cert IV and above)
  • Excellent written communication skills, including ability to write in clear and concise language
  • Exposure to relevant standards and tools such as DEF (Aust) 5692B, S1000D, Solidworks, CATIA CAD, and XML/structured authoring would be highly valued
