Job Opportunity: Technical Assurance Lead for SATCOM Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to take on the role of Technical Assurance Lead for our SATCOM systems. This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical assurance and certification for narrowband SATCOM systems in the Land Domain, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and fit for service throughout their lifecycle.

This role will require strong leadership skills, with the ability to align engineering activities with project requirements and division standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical authority assignments, ensuring SQEP coverage across functions, and maintaining engineering governance, standards, and compliance with Defence frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Communications, Systems, or related) and CPEng status or the ability to obtain within 12 months. Experience in Defence engineering, preferably in SATCOM or communications systems, is essential. Proven technical authority and assurance experience in complex environments is also required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading technical assurance and certification for narrowband SATCOM systems in the Land Domain
  • Aligning engineering activities with CA-66 project requirements and Land Division standards
  • Managing Technical Authority assignments and ensuring SQEP coverage across functions
  • Maintaining engineering governance, standards, and compliance with Defence frameworks

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Communications, Systems, or related); CPEng or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience in Defence engineering, ideally in SATCOM or communications systems
  • Proven technical authority and assurance experience in complex environments
  • Strong understanding of Land Domain integration and engineering governance
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Systems Engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with joint/coalition SATCOM interoperability standards
  • Knowledge of Land Materiel Design Acceptance and relevant Defence instructions
