We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail and Community Leader to join our team as a Floating Op Shop Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Brisbane stores, managing a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and ensuring our customers have a welcoming and engaging shopping experience.



About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about retail, community, and sustainability. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to achieving sales targets, drive community donations, and support our mission of making a positive impact on animal welfare in Queensland.



Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the RSPCA Qld Op Shop team and brand through your passion for all things preloved and second-hand, encouraging a positive supportive store atmosphere.
  • Work closely with the Op Shop Store Manager and Area Manager to support the goals and mission of the RSPCA Qld.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, providing exceptional experiences for our customers.
  • Train and support volunteers, empowering them to make a positive contribution to our team.
  • Drive sales to achieve set targets, leveraging your knowledge of fashion and clothing brands to create visually appealing displays.
  • Oversight and review of all goods for sale in the store, ensuring quality and presentation meet our standards.
  • Direct and monitor the daily register opening and closing procedures, maintaining accurate records and minimizing losses.
  • Maintain and periodically review the shop's pricing list, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.


About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. Your skills and qualifications may also include:



  • Confident in retail and demonstrated leadership experience in a retail environment (minimum of 2 years in a similar role).
  • Knowledge of fashion and clothing brands, with a proven ability to source and merchandise stock effectively.
  • Proven visual/merchandising skills, creating eye-catching displays that drive sales and engage customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to train and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent customer service skills, providing personalized experiences that build loyalty and retention.
  • A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Sound computer skills, proficient in point-of-sale systems and other relevant software.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and achieving targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to supervise and provide direction to a small team, developing and mentoring staff to reach their full potential.
