Transformative Software Engineer

We're seeking a visionary software engineer to join our dynamic Product Engineering teams in developing cutting-edge React-based fleet management interfaces and Python/Django APIs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in Australia, within the AEST timezone, who will collaborate closely with our distributed team across the east coast and occasionally work with our Dallas, United States team.

This role involves using technical expertise to iteratively deliver new capabilities and features to customers, encompassing back-office and self-serve tools as well as back-end optimization and scheduling systems powered by data. A typical week may include:

  • Collaborating within full-stack teams to scope and design novel functionality for internal or external users, such as enhanced management or workflow interfaces, dynamic reports and visualizations, and chat and AI-powered interfaces.
  • Contributing to Product Requirement Documents outlining upcoming work and RFC documents detailing technical challenges to be solved by the team.
  • Working with technical teams to iteratively enhance developer experience (DX) and tooling, including build and deployment processes, local environment tooling, and observability tools.
Key Requirements

To succeed in this position, you must have experience working on production-grade web applications and delivering stable, robust software. You'll also need to be comfortable bridging the gap between back and front end, even if you spend more time in one.

  • Experience with Python and Django, or a similar backend language such as Ruby or Typescript, and a willingness to contribute to the Python codebase.
  • Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks.
  • RESTful API design and implementation.
  • RDBMS fundamentals, particularly MySQL or Postgresql.
  • Comfort working in cross-functional, agile teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Bonus Points

Extra qualifications include experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, advanced mathematics concepts, physical hardware deployed on-prem or within data centers, high-throughput or complex data applications, or hardware projects.
