Job Title: Head of Research – Global Equity Manager

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Head of Research. As a senior member of our research team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that support our investment objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Research Team: Lead, mentor, and manage the research team, promoting a high-performance culture.
  • Talent Development: Oversee recruitment, development, and retention of top research talent.
  • Strategic Objectives: Set clear objectives and performance goals aligned with our strategic direction.
  • Research Coverage: Cover at least one global sector in-depth, in addition to overseeing the broader research effort.
  • Research Strategy: Develop and implement a research strategy in alignment with investment objectives and portfolio themes.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up to date with global economic, political, and financial trends to inform investment decisions.
  • Analysis Quality: Ensure high-quality analysis across all sectors and regions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with portfolio managers to integrate research into portfolio construction and risk management.
  • Investment Ideas: Provide actionable investment ideas and participate in portfolio manager meetings with research-driven recommendations.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation by leveraging new data sources, tools, and methodologies to enhance research quality.
  • Process Improvement: Improve research processes and workflows for better output and efficiency.
  • Client Communication: Communicate insights to clients and assist in writing responses for RFPs, client reports, and ad-hoc inquiries.
  • Industry Representation: Represent our firm as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (MBA, CFA preferred).
  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience in investment research, with leadership experience and a focus on global equities.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of global equity markets, macroeconomics, and investment strategies from buy-side or sell-side research.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership in managing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Ethics: Strong commitment to integrity and professional ethics.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $200,000-$300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure reflects the market value of this role within the industry and location, taking into account factors such as cost of living and market conditions.
