Environmental Leadership Opportunity: Ecologist with Strategic Vision

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join our team in Canberra, ACT. As a key member of our ecology workstream, you will be responsible for leading projects from inception to completion, providing technical expertise, and mentoring staff. Your role will involve cultivating client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the growth and success of our consultancy firm.
Responsibilities:- Lead ecological initiatives, providing strategic vision and technical expertise
- Mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Cultivate client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the growth and success of our consultancy firm
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of the growth strategy for the ecology workstream in ACT
For this role, we require:
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Principal Ecologist and 5+ years as a Senior Ecologist
- Degree qualified in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany, or a related discipline
- BAM accredited assessor or with extensive experience in BAM and/or other biometric data capture and analysis (or capacity to achieve BAM accreditation)
- Proven track record of leading ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact analyses
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience in preparing and reviewing reports
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, including project management and team coordination
