Project Support Officer Job Description

">Job Overview

The Project Support Officer plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of complex, high-profile Defence projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-level administrative and operational assistance to ensure seamless project execution according to Defence standards and tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of project activities.
  • Maintain and update project documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for smooth communication and project progress.
  • Provide administrative support to project managers.
  • Monitor project risks and issues, assisting in mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with budget management and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience in project support, administration, or coordination roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with multiple priority management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • NV1/NV2 security clearance or eligibility.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the defence or government sector.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Understanding of defence project frameworks.

This is a full-time, permanent position based primarily in Canberra. An active AGSVA NV1 security clearance is required, with the ability to upgrade to NV2.
