Role Overview

We are seeking a volunteer to provide companionship and social interaction for an older person living in their community. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life, while also enhancing your own skills and experience.

This role involves visiting the client regularly, engaging in activities they enjoy, and providing emotional support and friendship. The ideal candidate will be a friendly and approachable person who is able to build rapport with the client and their family.

Key Responsibilities

Provide regular visits to the client, engaging in activities they enjoy such as reading, gardening, or watching movies
Offer emotional support and friendship to the client, helping them to feel less isolated and more connected to their community
Work closely with the client and their family to understand their needs and preferences
Respect the client's autonomy and dignity at all times

Requirements

Be 18 years or older
Have a National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
