Pastry Chef Job Description

Sofitel Darling Harbour is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality pastries and desserts are produced and presented to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the production and presentation of pastries and cakes meet Sofitel brand standards.
  • Maintain open communication between the pastry kitchen and other departments within the hotel.
  • Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques meet all Sofitel brand standards.
  • Accountable for the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment, counter tops, and shelves.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
  • Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
