Job Title: Detention Centre Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Detention Centre Officer. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, dignity, and security of detainees in our care.

About the Role

This is a residential role based on Christmas Island, where you will focus on providing exceptional care and support to detainees. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe and respectful environment, and contribute to the overall success of our centre.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a strong understanding of the needs of people from diverse backgrounds, and be able to provide tailored support to meet their individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for detainees
  • Provide exceptional care and support to detainees
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve centre goals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of centre policies and procedures
