Senior Underground Construction Manager Role Summary

The Future Generation Joint Venture is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underground Construction Manager to lead the delivery of critical works within the Powerhouse Complex of one of Australia's most iconic infrastructure projects. This role requires a seasoned construction leader with a passion for complex underground infrastructure.

About the Role:

As the Senior Underground Construction Manager, you will be at the forefront of planning, coordinating, and executing underground construction activities. You'll ensure that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project specifications, environmental regulations, and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all underground construction activities within the Powerhouse Complex.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to manage complex schedules and resources.
  • Provide strong leadership to multidisciplinary construction teams.
  • Oversee quality control processes and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor budgets and drive cost-effective construction solutions.
  • Foster effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, along with 15-20 years' experience in major civil construction projects, particularly in underground, tunnelling, or powerhouse works. Additionally, you should have at least 5 years of senior construction management experience and proven leadership skills in managing large, multidisciplinary teams.
