Job Title: Principal Power Systems Engineer

Job Description

As a senior-level Power Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of advanced power grid management solutions. You will be responsible for leading projects in the ADMS portfolio, serving as a technical support expert, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, plan, and execute ADMS projects.

  • Lead complex projects in the ADMS portfolio and serve as a technical support expert
  • Support the implementation of control systems at electric utilities
  • Participate in the design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects
  • Collaborate with customers to support testing events
  • Work closely with functional development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes
  • Interface with GIS teams to extract, translate, and load electrical network models into Distribution Management Systems
  • Interface with CIS teams to extract, translate, and load customer models into Outage Management Systems
  • Configure and integrate software components to meet contract requirements and test with customers
  • Support training customers on how to operate delivered systems
  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues observed on live systems
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering, or related discipline
  • Min 5 years of experience in Power System Engineering, including Outage Management System and Switch Order Management Application Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues in software applications
  • Knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems
  • Understanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modeling is preferred (Load Flow Studies, FLISR, and VVC/VVO)
  • Familiarity with electric utilities operations and regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and context switch between multiple competing tasks
