Deputy Program Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Grampians Region Colonoscopy Access Project. Your primary objective will be to drive improvements in patient care and outcomes by enhancing cancer care and ensuring timely access to colonoscopy services across the region.
The Integrated Cancer Services (ICS) operate across Victoria with the primary aim of improving the experiences and outcomes of those affected by cancer. The Victorian Cancer Action Plan provides the overall strategic policy direction for ICS activities. GICS are one of nine teams within the VICS network.
Key Responsibilities- Work with GICS Leadership, program staff, consumers, and health executives to enhance practices in priority areas.
- Lead project management efforts to achieve GICS Work Plan goals aligned with the Victorian Cancer Plan, including design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Partner with the GICS Data & Quality Specialist to oversee data and information management activities, ensuring alignment with the VICS Data and Information Management Framework.
- Apply quality improvement, project methodologies, and risk management principles within the healthcare sector.
- Provide leadership in strategic project oversight and ensure effective execution of project deliverables.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of quality improvement and risk management in a healthcare context.
- Tertiary qualifications in health or relevant science field in addition to recent experience in acute public health.
- Proven background in quality improvement, change management, and service redesign within the health system.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and issues related to delivering high-quality healthcare services.
- Experience in providing executive or secretariat support to governance committees.
- Ability to understand, report on organizational risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Skilled in health information/data analysis and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with high computer literacy and effective written and verbal communication.
