Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Landscape Assessment Officer. In this role, you will undertake detailed landscape and tree assessments for development applications, prepare clear reports and recommendations, and provide expert advice to internal departments and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough landscape and tree assessments for development applications
  • Prepare concise and legally robust reports and recommendations
  • Provide expert guidance to internal teams, applicants, and the public
  • Investigate complaints and non-compliant works, and suggest mitigating measures
  • Represent the organization at Planning Panels, on-site inspections, and Land & Environment Court proceedings as required
  • Ensure compliance with organizational Environmental Management System Policy and Corporate Standards & Procedures on environmental management practices
  • Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • OHS General Induction (White Card) for construction work in NSW
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in development assessment and analysis
  • Substantial experience in landscape architecture, urban design, and arboriculture
  • In-depth knowledge of NSW planning legislation and local government frameworks
  • Strong understanding of environmental management principles
  • High-level written and verbal communication, including report writing and customer interaction
