Job Title: Bereavement Support Specialist

Overview

This position is seeking a qualified professional to provide bereavement support and care to families and carers of patients in the Palliative Care Service.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the palliative care environment and be able to provide empathetic and sensitive support to those who are grieving.

The role will involve coordinating support services, providing information and psycho-education, and ensuring that clients receive care within professional, organisational, legal and ethical boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide bereavement support and care to families and carers of patients in the Palliative Care Service
  • Coordinate support services to ensure seamless delivery of care
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and community organisations to enhance access to resources and services
  • Ensure that clients receive care within professional, organisational, legal and ethical boundaries
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in social work or psychology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to use telehealth as a mode of delivery for clinical care
