Speech Pathologist – Carpentaria – Darwin Role

Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation providing disability and therapy services for children, adolescents and adults in the Northern Territory.

Key Responsibilities:- Working in a culturally diverse environment, providing a contemporary, evidence-based speech pathology service, including assessment, treatment planning and evaluation.
- Working with clients and their representatives to identify individualised goals and preferences.
- Selecting, developing, and tailoring augmentative and alternative communication systems, programs, and resources for participants with communication needs.
- Leading and contributing to the development of individual and group programs within Carpentaria Therapy Service areas.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current Certification with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Experience in implementing evidence-based frameworks and delivering holistic supports.
- An understanding of working within the NDIS environment.
- You will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid certificate, evidence of Australian work rights, and an NT Drivers Licence.
Carpentaria provides a positive work environment that encourages and promotes work/life balance, a sense of humour and having fun. Salary packaging is available, equivalent to up to $6,400 additional salary per year. You will also receive 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading, as well as $1,500 professional development allowance per year.
