Job Description

Our team is seeking a skilled Hydrogeology Specialist to play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the Hazelwood mine. The selected candidate will contribute to the technical aspects of EES and DMRP, working collaboratively with our Technical Services and Project Management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical advice on mine and rehabilitation activities to ensure site safety and stability.
  • Lead routine monitoring and analysis, including groundwater routines, weight balance analysis, and data management.
  • Scope and coordinate drilling activities and technical studies contributing to mine infrastructure rehabilitation and regulatory processes.
  • Manage and review consultant designs and proposals.
  • Identify geotechnical and hydrogeological hazards, implementing effective risk management controls and response plans.

About You

We are looking for a qualified individual with a strong background in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology or a related field. A proven track record in hydrogeology within a mining context is essential, along with a deep understanding of groundwater systems and geotechnical interactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Tertiary degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven expertise in hydrogeology within a mining context.
  • In-depth technical understanding of mining operations specific to the Latrobe Valley.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape governing mining and environmental management in the Latrobe Valley region.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard hydrogeological software tools.
